Reciprocal Links - Traffic Exchange:

Links to your website from other websites is one of the biggest boosts in website rankings that you will get. SEO and building traffic go hand in hand. You have to do it all. It's time to build links.

Brad Callen is the King of SEO and the Link Swapping Master, no I am not related to him, I just know what he teaches is extremely valuable. His free ebook is what got my first site listed in Google and I haven't stopped using his information since. There is no point in me re-writing his book here so get your copy and see what he has to say. Get his ebook here <-- right click and save target as.

Brad promotes his software in this ebook but he also tells you how to do it all without his software. If you want to try SEO-Elite, follow the link in the ebook for a free 7 day trial.

Brad has a new, free piece of software available. It is called Directory Submitter and you can get quality, one way links for FREE. Check out Directory Submitter.

Reciprocal Links, (traffic exchange)

A reciprocal link is where you trade links with websites. Make sure you are only trading links with sites that compliment your site. The search engines frown on links from just anywhere. If your website is about computers, you don't want links from the recipe site. Why? How often have you been looking for a good recipe and decided, in the middle of that search, to buy a new computer? Pretty silly but that is why you need relevant links.

You will want to install a link directory to your website. This makes it easy to get reciprocal links. People can add their link to your site and take you link to their site at the same time. Get a very good, free, link directory system here. Make sure you set categories that are only relevant to your site. Set the program so you have to approve all new links. That way you will get an email from your website each time someone tried to link to you. You will have the opportunity to accept or reject the link before it shows up on your website. This discourages the spammers from even trying to link from your site.

Go to Link Assistant Directory and download your free, full functioning directory software.

Once you have that all set up, it's time to go looking for links to get the ball rolling. This directory will eventually do all the work for you but if no one knows it's there, you can't expect them to magically show up and use it.

You can find many directories that will be in your niche by doing a search on Google. Put - add link, topic - in Google and search. (topic being your niche, i.e. computers, health, dogs, what ever.) Many sites that have link directories for your topic will come up. Just go through them all and add your site. Remember to add the url to your sign-up page for your list.

NOTE: There are many link farms out there. (A link farm is a site that has links to everything.) You have to steer clear of them if you don't want to get swept under the rug by the search engines.

Here are a couple good places to start getting your reciprocal links. Most are free to join and you can get quality traffic exchanges from these programs.

Make sure you set the filters to only accept links on your topic. Do not, no matter how tempting it may be, accept links off topic. You will only be hurting yourself. This will kill your rankings.

Link Metro is top notch. You can set the filters so only websites in your field will suggest a link. Once you join, don't wait for someone else to contact you, get the ball rolling right away by requesting exchanges from other partners. There are two different programs here. One you pay for and one is free. use the free one. It takes a little more time but it is just as effective.

Monster Link Swap is currently free. They keep saying they are going to start charging for this service. Check them out and see if they are still free. If not, skip it, they are a good, free program but I wouldn't pay for it.

Link Partners is another free traffic exchange service. I believe they also have free or pay services. Use the free services. Their pay services entitles you to a directory for your website. You already have that.

LinkOutBreak isn't a free service but they are cheap. If you are looking for more traffic, try them.
